Get answers to common questions about Buff Shine.
A Buff Shine finish can last about 3–10 days depending on activity level and nail growth. Natural oils and chores may dull shine sooner; occasional at-home care or a clear topcoat can help extend the glossy look.
Yes. When performed gently by trained technicians, Buff Shine is safe for thin or weak nails. Over-buffing can thin the nail plate, so we use controlled pressure and recommend spacing treatments to protect nail health.
Buffing will not remove fully cured polish completely, but it can dull or alter the surface. For best results and a true natural shine, we recommend removing polish before performing Buff Shine.
We do not recommend Buff Shine on acrylics or hard gel extensions because buffing can damage overlays. For enhancements, we offer finishing techniques tailored to artificial nails to create shine safely.
Avoid harsh chemicals and prolonged water exposure for 24–48 hours. Apply cuticle oil daily and consider a clear strengthener or topcoat to protect the finish and extend the polished natural shine between visits.
Yes. Careful buffing evens out minor ridges and smooths the nail surface, improving reflectivity and concealing imperfections. Deep ridges may need additional treatments; our techs will assess and recommend solutions.
